Abstract:
Design of the PXIE beam dump and its radiation shielding were investigated. In the talk will be discus selection of materials for beam dump, geometry and cooling, influence of such phenomena as material sputtering and blistering for the lifetime of dump. Design of the local radiation shielding for beam dump and studies of radiation conditions inside and outside of the cave were done by using MARS simulations. The final configuration of PXIE enclose (the thickness of the concrete floor, roof and walls, the constructions of the entry/exit labyrinths, problem of the groundwater activation) provides required radiation protection for the personnel and environment in all operation scenario.
