Abstract:
The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate that it is possible to develop an alternative high-beta SRF cavity which has much less probability of HOMs excitation and, thus, reduce a technical risk for a billion scale project. Besides, it is appropriate for both, low and high current, CW linac operations. We overview the main limitations caused by a high current applications and present the final design of the alternative β= 0.92, 5-cell elliptical accelerating structure for Project X.
